I have to say—I’m beyond grateful for Facebook and Instagram. Thanks to these platforms, I’ve connected with so many amazing families I may have never crossed paths with otherwise. One of those families is the Bulkley crew, and wow—what a gift it’s been to know them.
Skye found me through Facebook a few years ago, and even though we’ve only met up twice for photos, it feels like we’ve been friends forever. There’s just something magnetic about her energy. I keep hoping one day, she and her beautiful family will pack up and move to Idaho—we’d welcome them with open arms!

Getting Lost—Literally (But It Was Worth It)
Okay, confession time: I am not the person you want navigating your road trip. I’ve never had a great relationship with directions. Think back to that scene in Ferdinand where the Highland bull says, “I can’t SEE very well… ssshhhh.” That’s me—but with navigation.
For our first shoot, everything went smoothly. Google Maps led the way, through the beautiful mountains of Bear Lake County, Idaho- SUCH a gorgeous place to go for a drive…and we made it without a hitch. So when Skye sent her address again for this shoot, I thought, “Been there, done that. Easy peasy.”
Famous last words.
We ended up 15 minutes in the wrong direction, me staring at the GPS like it might magically change, and my husband (a human compass, I swear) just shaking his head. Eventually, he trusted his gut and turned us around—thank goodness!
And because no wild journey is complete without a little extra chaos, I tried calling Skye… and of course, the call wouldn’t go through. But in true Bulkley fashion—always going the extra mile—Skye’s husband literally jumped on a motorcycle to come find us. Motorcycle hair for family photos? Who cares. Now that’s client service! 😂
Why I Adore the Bulkley Family
Skye and her family are the kind of people who care deeply about others, no matter how inconvenient it may be. That’s rare. Their kids are spunky, sweet, and full of posing ideas that had me smiling all evening.
At one point, I even attempted a ‘mermaid’ pose to demonstrate something fun—and plopped right down on a giant thistle. Let’s just say I won’t be doing that again anytime soon, but honestly? The photos were 100% worth the sting.

A Personal Thank You
Skye, your family is golden. I know the last few years haven’t been easy, and I’m beyond grateful that you took a chance on me. Sessions like this remind me why I do what I do—it’s not just about the images, it’s about the people and the memories we create together.
Here’s to hoping that Idaho becomes your forever home sooner rather than later. We’d love to have you just around the corner!
To the whole Bulkley family—thank you for your laughter, your kindness, and your trust.
With love,
